Kid Italy
Why did you become a wrestler? I watched it on TV starting at about 5 or 6 years old. It has always been my own personal get away, no matter what age I've been in life. I was always told I was to small, which I was a small kid growing up. When I was 15, I saw my first independent show. It was right around the time smaller guys were making an impact. There was the guy on the show that was more entertaining than the rest. He was close to six feet, but still had a small frame. After that day I knew I was going to do this no matter what. When I started training at 18, I only weighed 125lbs. When I debuted I was probably around 160lbs. and have been up to 182lbs., my heaviest this past summer. I have leaned out a lot lately, just to see myself more cut. Well, sorry I know that was more than enough.
What is your favorite saying? " It's gonna be 1-2-3, Forget About It! "
What is your favorite song? Right know it would "Lovers and Friends" and "Obsession". I listen to a lot of kinds of music though, except country.
What is your favorite weapon to use in a wrestling match? I don't need a weapon, but sometimes if I have my manager(Justin Tyme) with me, he may use his Jim Cornette style tennis racket. It seems like I have been hit with it more than any other wrestler though, maybe that why I don't like the weapons so much.
What is your favorite movie? Scarface and 8 Mile
What is your favorite food? Any kind of meat.
Who is your favorite musical artist or band? Bob Marley, Staind, Eminem, and many others.
Who is your favorite actor and/or actress? Colin Farrell and Al Pacino
Besides yourself who is your favorite wrestler? Dynamite Kid, Chris Benoit, Jamie Knoble, Shawn Michaels, and Ric Flair
What are you?re outside the ring interests or hobbies? Bodybuilding and drinking. I balance out the negatives with the positives, I guess.
What is your high school and/or college athletic background? I never really played any sports in High School. I have played one season in about every sport, but I played Ice Hockey for 5yrs. I always said I was either going to be a Pro Hockey player or Pro Wrestler, it's obvious which happened.
What promotions have you worked for? I have worked in a total of 8 states so far, which I feel is so sort of an accomplishment. Bigger named Indies would be Bang TV, NWA-Wildside, Heartland Wrestling, Buckeye Pro, Extreme Texas Wrestling, World Impact Wrestling, and a variety of other Indies mostly in the Mid-west.
What titles have you held? None that mean anything.
What is your most memorable match ever? A show in November 2004 in Wilmar, Minnesota for World Impact Wrestling(Christian Based). I wrestled a Canadian wrestler named, Cody Steele. He is a 5 year vet with a lot of knowledge of the business. We roomed together while doing the mini-tour in Minnesota, so we became pretty good friends and stay in contact on a normal basis. He had two matches for WWE after leaving MN., so it was cool to wrestle him right before he debuted for WWE. He actually wrestled Kurt Angle on Smackdown that week. Cody definitely taught me a lot in a short time.
Who was your toughest opponent in a single or tag team match? My toughest opponent would probably be Bobo Brazil Jr., which I wrestled in a singles match about a year ago or so. My funnest opponent is my best friend in the business, "The Golden Boy" Scotty Crew.
What would you like people to know about you? My motto is "I live every day as its my last, because you never know when you may go". People are not guaranteed tomorrow or even the next five minutes, so try to be happy in life. I work very hard in the gym. There are a lot a short guys in wrestling, but not many of them have any size, which I feel is something that benefits myself. Overall, I try to work when and wherever I can to better my abilities. I feel in the past 5 months alone I have changed a lot as a worker for the better.
What would you be doing if you weren?t a wrestler? Playing ice hockey or still playing the drums. I used the play the drums in my late teens for 4 years.
What would you like people to remember about you? That I really involve the crowd and play my matches off of them rather than just do one particular match. So, yeah that I have a good crowd psychology and just really good and pissing people off, but after a show I am one of the nicer wrestlers you'll talk to.
Thank you Kid Italy it's been a pleasure.
