"The Real" N8 Mattson (a.k.a. Amazing N8)
Why did you become a wrestler? I became a professional wrestlers because I grew up watching it in the 1980's, and it looked like something that would be fun to do.
What is your favorite saying? For my wrestling promos, I might say "N8 Mattson is the Main Attraction!" In my every day language, I call people "man: or "dude" a lot.
What is your favorite song? I don't know, I have so many. Let's say "Chick Magnet" by MXPX
What is your favorite weapon to use in a wrestling match? That depends on the match and who I'm working, but chairs can be fun and interesting to use.
What is your favorite movie? My all-time favorite is Blues Brothers, but I all so really like Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, and Snatch.
What is your favorite food? I'm not picky, but chinese and mexican are two of my favorites. I mostly eat some kind of chicken with my meals.
Who is your favorite musical artist or band? I grew up listening to various punk bands like the Ramones and Descendents, but MXPX is my favorite. I met their singer Mike Herrera at the Vans Warped Tour a few years ago.
Who is your favorite actor and/or actress? I'd say Johnny Depp and Uma Therman are probably my favorites right now.
Besides yourself who is your favorite wrestler? Growing up it was "Macho Man" Randy Savage all the way. I also like Sting, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels.
What are you're outside the ring interests or hobbies? I'm an avid Skateboarder, but I haven't had much free time lately. I also draw, and I can play the Blues on my Harmonica.
What is your high school and/or college athletic background? Through out High School, I didn't play any sports. I was just your average kid with big dreams. I played some baseball early on, but after that it was just me and my board.
What promotions have you worked for? Dozens and dozens, I'll just list a few of them: NWA-TNA, 3PW, OVW, Border City Wrestling, Cleveland All-Pro Wrestling, NWA Great Lakes, Independent Wrestling Revolution, Mason-Dixon Wrestling, Mad-Mar Entertainment, All World Wrestling League, Wrestling And Respect, Ultimate Championship Wrestling, Marquee Wrestling, Metro Pro Wrestling, Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling, and the list goes on and on.
What titles have you held? I've held 25 championships with various Michigan, Ohio, and Ontario-based promotions. Most notably, I've held the IWR's Triple Crown (Heavyweight, King of the Independents twice, and Tag Team), BCW Tag Team, NWA Great Lakes Jr. Heavyweight 3 times, CAPW North Carolina Jr. Heavyweight twice, Marquee Wrestling title, and the XICW Intense Championship, just to name a few.
What is your most memorable match ever? That's a tough one. I have to say A.J. Styles in 2003 really stands out, but there's so many to choose from. Also my match with Marty Jannetty in 2000 was a great learning experiance for me as well.
Who was your toughest opponent in a single or tag team match? Chris Sabin hands down. Sabin is a former student of mine, and he always brings out the best in me. We have wrestled many times, and our styles compliment one another. In tag action, Sabin and I worked the Legionof Doom, and they were pretty cool.
What would you like people to know about you? That I am a born-again Christian, I'm left handed, and I like Popeye cartoons.
What would you be doing if you weren't a wrestler? I would probably be working in a church ministry or some sort of youth group. Whatever God wants me to do. Maybe I could climb Mount Everest, I'm not sure.
What would you like people to remember about you? I'd like people to remember N8 Mattson as a friendly, caring person, and as a man who gave 100%, no matter what.
Thank You N8 Mattson it's been a pleasure.
