The Nighthawk

Why did you become a wrestler? I started out as a fan, then a writer/photographer/editor for several national magazines, and finally had to get in the ring myself.

What is your favorite saying? “This is gonna hurt!”

What is your favorite song? “Amarillo by Morning” by George Strait

What is your favorite weapon to use in a wrestling match? I prefer not to use weapons at all but I’ve never lost a Texas bullrope match!

What is your favorite movie? Casablanca

What is your favorite food? Steak, well done

Who is your favorite musical artist or band? Lots of favorites, all over the board, but my tops are George Strait, KISS, Swing Out Sister and Gino Vannelli.

Who is your favorite actor and/or actress? Pierce Brosnan and Diana Rigg

Besides yourself who is your favorite wrestler? Jack Brisco

What are you’re outside the ring interests or hobbies? I play tennis and collect books and art

What is your high school and/or college athletic background? I played two years of college tennis, plus semi-pro football and baseball, and have competed in martial arts and golf tournaments.

What promotions have you worked for? NWA (Championship Wrestling from Florida and Spinebuster), UWA, IWAW, WIW, SCW, APW, EPW, UCCW, PCW, and AWF.

What titles have you held? Currently the NWA Gulf Coast heavyweight champ, previously SCW Texas champ, IWAW heavyweight, PCW cruiserweight, UWA junior-heavyweight, and tag titles in UWA and WIW.

What is your most memorable match ever? Has to be winning the NWA Gulf Coast title in Orlando in 2004.

Who was your toughest opponent in a single or tag team match? Toughest was Drew “Blood” Bannen, who was trained by Adrian Street. Solid mat technician, top conditioning, could match me hold for hold.

What would you like people to know about you? I still try to represent the sport of pro wrestling like I remember it, from the 60s and 70s. I broke into the game in 1990 right at the end of the “old school” era but I still try to perform that way and I think fans enjoy seeing that.

What would you be doing if you weren’t a wrestler? I’d enjoy coaching in any of the sports I previously played.

What would you like people to remember about you? I gave everything I had every night.

Thank You Nighthawk it's been a pleasure.
